I download a map with "Load Map". I show it with "Show/Hide Map". I see the map. Then I use the "Make ..." function but the generated ace file is completely black. I reopen TSRE5 but the situation is this.

I can continue to show the map with "Show/Hide Map" but in OR I only see a black surface.
Before, this was working for me. Sorry for my bad translation in English. Francesco

Looks like out of disk space error or out of memory.

I have a new 512GB NVME SSD still empty and 16GB RAM. TSRE5 does not give me error messages. The maps are from 8192x8192 (from png to ace). I never had problems. I don't know ... it seems like some problem in the conversion.

I tried to do the same thing more distant in the route but idem, same pretext.
"Load Map" --> "Make..."

Works fine for me. Check log file, writing permissions etc.
I've had this kind of a bug only when no free disk space was left.

TSRE doesn't use conversion from png to ace.

I did this test.
I created four reference images, in png format, in increasing resolution (from 1024 x 1024 up to 8192 x 8192)

Then I redone the same texturing operations, using the four png images shown above as maps (by renaming the files). Well, the last 8192 pixel test fails. I checked the permissions and disk space.

In practice, the ace file has always been correctly generated up to 4096 x 4096. With the red map at 8192 x 8192, the procedure generates a black ace but with correct dimensions!

Are you using function Save to disk for maps? Why not just generate the ace files right after downloading it?

Anyway, making texture from a previously saved map works for me too.

After "Load" map always made "Save to disk" and immediately after "Make ...".
And I've always backed up (with renaming the file) both the png file and the ace file, as shown:

In the green box there is the original map; my map in the blue box.

Anyway, in some intervention before, I did the test again for you on the fly, with another more distant tile ("Load"(Map) -> "Save to disk" -> "Make .." -> "Save"(Route) -> "Exit" // reopen TSRE5).
Obviously the original png map exists, but the ace file is black.

However I will do other tests.

P.S.: Thanks Goku, I hope you have the desire to continue with TSRE5 also because the development of graphic improvements (GPU side) in OR are not seen and the development, to date, is proceeding slowly. I also thank our "Carlo Sanit" who continues the experience with Monogame. I ask you to have mercy on my bad English

Did it work for you before?
Maybe there is a problem with your GPU driver that don't like request of getting 8192x8192 data?
